Well Here we are again folks, it’s time to continue with the success of last year’s Musical the Addams family and bring Musical theatre back with newer Modern Shows, and I am super excited to be bringing you, for the first time in all of Australasia! a brand spanking new Disney Musical! “Freaky Friday” this show will leave you amazed and wanting for more, it is hilarious!
I have been heavily involved in the theatre since I was 15 years old and apart from a brief break after moving back to the Coast, I have been in one continuous performance in both Musical theatre and Plays. While spending quite a few years in Christchurch I performed several shows a year with Christchurch Repertory Theatre, St Joseph’s Theatre and several smaller theatre groups and performed in shows such as a 12 show season of ‘Grease’ and performed as Patrick Senior in ‘Mame’ which I have to say is one of my favourites. During my time in Christchurch I Joined Original Scripts Theatre Company where we were performing several shows a year. Here I managed to get involved in some of the other more detailed aspects of theatre including co-writing a script and parts in several short films with students from Canterbury University Film School.
I have spent the last Four Years Directing for the Greymouth Operatic and helping build our quality of performance, and am Incredibly proud to put my name to “Stiff, Death and Taxes, Sh@t Happens and The Addams Family”. I have Teamed up with Jamie Mosher to Create (SuperBrain ProductioNZ Ltd) which currently working with the Greymouth Regent Theatre Trust and some very dedicated people to create the “Loud Mouth Performing Arts Festival” which will grace our town this November with theatre, Music, Poetry and a whole lot of fun! And I firmly believe Greymouth is to become Performing Arts Capital of the South.
Last year Jamie and I thought we was time to bring the Music back and embarked on our first Direction of a full Musical and The Addams Family was very successful, and we could not be prouder of the results! This year Jamie was cast as Katherine in Freaky Friday and I am flying solo, although I have really missed having Jamie Direct with me, I couldn’t be prouder of what this amazing team has created so far, and I know you will all enjoy!
